Residence pathways to assess

Each pathway has its own legal basis, evidence and limitations. These options support comparison; the final route follows an individual case review.

Important regulatory note

Business licensing, work authorisation and residence are separate. The company structure, emirate and issuing authority affect the process; incorporation or buying property does not automatically secure a Golden Visa.

Employer-sponsored work residence

For genuine employment, review the contract and employer status. Establish who handles work permission and residence formalities. Before relocating, examine recruitment costs, insurance and the consequences of ending the employment relationship.

Green Residence for eligible categories

Green Residence is a renewable five-year route for qualifying categories including skilled workers and self-employed professionals. Category-specific contracts, professional classification, permits and income evidence matter; a job title alone does not establish eligibility.

Golden Residence: investment and talent

This route targets defined investment, entrepreneurship and talent categories. Review the evidence of investment or achievement, relevant endorsement and category conditions separately. Assess investment merit independently from any expected residence outcome.

Starting documents and questions

  • Passport, current status and family records; identify your purpose and intended emirate.
  • Employment contract, professional permit, qualifications or investment evidence for the category.

A final checklist follows individual assessment. Translations, certification and family documents may be required. Do not send sensitive documents at the first contact.

Before applying and when renewing

Compare business and residence renewal costs, insurance, presence rules and dependent status. Study, family and remote-work cases require their own category review; do not infer work permission from a residence label.

Our support for this destination

We review your goals and circumstances, compare possible routes and prepare an initial checklist. Local legal coordination, translation and follow-up must be defined in the agreement before work begins; government and third-party charges are itemised separately.

Individual assessment is required. Nationality or budget alone does not establish eligibility.

Questions about this destination

Are Green and Golden Residence the same?

No. Their categories, supporting evidence and conditions differ and should be compared separately.
